33 more graduates have now joined the Leadership Fiji Alumni after graduating last night.
This is the largest graduating class in the program’s history.
The list of graduates included lawyers, firefighters, entrepreneurs, journalists and many others from the Tourism, Manufacturing and Banking Industry.
As part of the program this year, the Leadership Fiji 2017 group did six community projects around the country which had a total value of more than $20,000.
For the past 16 years Leadership Fiji has established a special Alumni of 383 leaders, of differing ages, backgrounds, and ethnicity, spanning over a wide range of sectors that make up the fabric of our society.
Speaking at the Graduation Dinner held at the Holiday Inn in Suva last night, President Jioji Konrote commended the Leadership Fiji programme for preparing leaders for the future and enhancing their leadership skills.
He also pointed out the efforts that Leadership Fiji has in creating a movement of change focused on eradicating family violence in our communities.
Konrote also highlighted to the 33 graduates that in order for leaders to be truly successful, they should have a positive, caring and inclusive approach with an inherent understanding of the local dynamics of our beloved Fiji as a small and young democratic sovereign nation.
He added that Leadership Fiji is synonymous with taking action in our communities with various projects.
Also present at the Leadership Fiji Graduation was U.S Ambassador, Judith Cefkin and Deputy Commissioner of the New Zealand High Commission Amanda Vercoe, Chief Justice Anthony Gates and the Director of Public Prosecutions Christopher Pryde.
