The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority is investigating 32 more businesses for not reducing prices following the VAT rate reduction from 15 percent to 9 percent.

Acting CEO Visvanath Das said they had also issued VAT infringement notices to 22 businesses that have paid their fines.

He said seven businesses that were under investigation were not found guilty.

The 32 businesses that are currently being investigated can be fined up to $50,000.

Those who do not comply can also face up to 10 years imprisonment or a $100,000 fine upon conviction.
