A curfew from 6pm to 6am is now in place for Labasa, Nadi and Ba towns for the next 31 days.
Director Police Operations SSP Waisea Tabakau said they are restricting movement in these towns for the safety of shop owners and the general public at large.
Tabakau said that the only people allowed to enter town include those who reside in town or those who have business situated inside towns.
Meanwhile, Tabakau has urged people to boil drinking water to prevent the spread of diseases. He adds the sewage pipe that broke in Sigatoka has contaminated the Sigatoka River and is harmful for the general public.
Tabakau said people should refrain from swimming or using water from Sigatoka River for drinking.
