Bridges in Lami, Sabeto and Viseisei to be replaced

$304.4M in concessional loans and grants secured for four bridges

$304.4 million in funding has been secured in concessional loans and grants for four bridges that have been identified under the Fiji - Critical Bridges Resilience Project by the Fiji Roads Authority for replacement under the project.

The four critical bridges are Lami Bridge and Medraukutu Bridge in Lami on the Queens Highway, Sabeto Bridge in Nadi and Viseisei Bridge in Lautoka.

Cabinet has endorsed the loan and grant agreements with the Asian Development Bank for loan and grant facilities.

$271.6 million of the total amount will be as concessional loan financing and approximately $32.8 million as grant financing.

The project is anticipated to conclude in 2031.
