Good news for three hundred villagers of Verevere Village in Rakiraki as a newly constructed foot-crossing bridge was commissioned at the village today.

Speaking at the commissioning, Minister for Waterways Dr. Mahendra Reddy says the foot-crossing bridge is significant as it linked the communities to meet their basic needs, improve living standards and quality of life towards becoming self-sufficient.

He added that the foot crossing bridge supports the growth and development of rural communities and further boosts agricultural activity as it helps to improve access to the market and helps sustain livelihoods.

A total of Sixteen foot-crossing bridges have been completed which has benefited Fijians including women and children for easy access to farms, schools, towns, health service, etc.
