3 retired Fijians in Lane 25 in Rarawai assist another 20 families after receiving donations from Australia

A retired school headteacher and two retired FSC workers from Lane 25 in Rarawai, Ba have today distributed food rations to 20 families in their area and other nearby areas.

Dhiren Singh, Timoci Qima and Bal Krishna have now covered all 29 houses in Lane 25 in Rarawai.

Singh says they received a $1,100 donation from Sandeep Nadan and Mona Nadan from New South Wales, Australia who wanted to help the affected families.

The three retired Fijians had also assisted 22 families in their area last week with $50 worth of basic food items after receiving donations from New Zealand.

Singh says some people are going through major difficulties in meeting their daily requirements.

Singh says they want to ensure families in their community are always looked after.

He says while some factories are operational, they employ people for only two or three days in a week and people are just managing to survive.

You can contact Singh on 9295873 to donate and help the most severely affected in Rarawai and nearby areas. You can get the details on the Hands Across Fiji section of our website, fijivillage.
