Three people are currently in police custody for impersonating Fiji Revenue and Customs Service officers.

CEO of Fiji Revenue and Customs Service Visvanath Das says for the past 2 weeks some members of the public have been receiving anonymous calls that Revenue and Customs officers conducting raids are asking for money.

He says they have received 20 cases that they are dealing with police.

Das says just Friday and yesterday, they have been able to get hold of 3 people with regards to this.

He says Uraia Naivaluvou who is a 28-year-old police officer and Kelera Kacivaki aged 42, called up a tax payer in Nausori asking for $5,000 to avoid the raid.

Das says these two were caught by the Police Task Force.

He says yesterday police managed to arrest a 42-year-old farmer Aiyaz Ali, who came to collect money from a tax payer.

Das has urged the general public that it is common sense that Fiji Revenue and Customs Service will not call up somebody if they will be conducting a raid.
