Three people arrested for impersonating Fiji Revenue and Customs Service officers are expected to be charged today.

Fiji Revenue and Customs Service CEO Visvanath Das says for the past two weeks some members of the public have been receiving anonymous calls that Revenue and Customs officers conducting raids are asking for money.

He says Uraia Naivaluvou who is a 28‑year‑old police officer and Kelera Kacivaki aged 42, called up a tax payer in Nausori asking for $5,000 to avoid the raid.

Das says police managed to arrest a 42‑year‑old farmer Aiyaz Ali, who came to collect money from a tax payer on Saturday.

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service has also received 20 cases that they are dealing with police.
