Family returns from Good Friday church service to find their house destroyed in a fire

Three people are homeless after their three-bedroom flat was destroyed in a fire in Naodamu in Labasa yesterday.

Police say the three-bedroom concrete and roofing iron house belongs to a 57-year-old farmer.

It is believed the fire started from one of the rooms. Police say there were no casualties reported.

One of the occupants in the house, Ilisapeci Semo says they were all attending a church service when the incident occurred.

Semo says the house belongs to her uncle who is currently in Saqani.

She says her uncle owns a yaqona farm in Labasa.

Another vacant two bedroom flat next to this property was also destroyed.
