3 juveniles charged in relation to alleged assault of a student released on bail

The three juveniles who have been charged in relation to the alleged assault of a student that surfaced via a video posted on social media, have been released on bail and their case will be called again on the 24th of April.

The three accused are former students of the boarding school and are aged 17, 16 and 15 years old.

The three have been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

They have been released on bail with surety and $200. They are not to reoffend and not to interfere with witnesses.

Police are still trying to locate the fourth suspect.

The disturbing video which was widely being circulated shows a group of students taunting a student who is in uniform and they are then seen repeatedly hitting him with a piece of timber, punching him up several times and swearing at him in the iTaukei language.
