A 29 year old staff of the vessel, Lomaiviti Princess 8 is missing and the search continues for him.
Police say whilst trying to swim after their small dingy boat that was drifting away due to the ropes being loosened by rough seas, Alifereti Radrodro was swept away by the strong currents at the Suva Harbour.
The incident occurred at about 5pm Monday.
Police say the search efforts continue by Police and stakeholders.
The man's body is yet to be retrieved.
