26 lives lost in road accidents this year

It is tragic that 26 lives have been lost on our roads this year, compared to 29 deaths recorded during the same period last year.

The Fiji Police Force says there are several habits drivers and members of the public can practise every day to help ensure the safety of all road users.

Police stress that despite ongoing road safety reminders, lives continue to be lost due to irresponsible and inconsiderate driving.

They are urging drivers to inspect their vehicles before driving.

Drivers are also being reminded to get enough rest before travelling and to remain focused while behind the wheel.
