$23M upgrade to improve water supply
Water level capacities averaging 160 mega liters daily will be achieved at the Waila and Tamavua treatment plants once the Water Authority's $23 million upgrading programme is completed.

Authority General Manager Operations, Taito Delana said that this will alleviate water supply to problematic areas.

He said the third major water supply shutdown will be held this Saturday from 7am for the Suva Nausori corridor and it is being carried out to allow for upgrading works at the Waila treatment plant that involves the switchboard replacement.

Delana said the new switchboard would control the flow of water from the source into the treatment plant.
