$2.2M project to benefit over 1500 children

A $2.2 million project is expected to start soon which will see more than 1500 children benefitting from early childhood education over the next three year's.

Save the Children Fiji through its New Zealand counterpart has secured a fund of $1.9 million New Zealand dollars by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand.

Chief Executive Officer, Chandra Shekhar said more than 2000 children below the age of 5 year's have benefitted from the centers and have performed well in schools.

He added that 10 more centers will be built along the Suva Nasinu corridor, Labasa and Lautoka.

The Sustainable Development Fund Project will also focus on vocational training, employment and income generation activities.
