229 people currently sheltering at two evacutaion centres in Savusavu

229 people are currently taking shelter in two evacuations centres in Savusavu.

The families have moved to these evacuation centres as they have been experiencing strong winds and rain from last night.

The two evacuation centres being used are the Qalitu District School and Khemendra Central School.

According to Savusavu Police, these are families whose homes have been flooded and those living in flood-prone areas.

Police are currently on the ground, assisting people who need to be moved to evacuation centres.

Meanwhile, Police have moved families residing beside Dreketi River to the evacuation centres.
