A 22-year-old man will appear in the Lautoka Magistrates Court today for the alleged murder of an 18-year-old woman.
Police say the incident was reported to the Lautoka Police Station on the 5th of December 2025 after the woman was found motionless in a park.
They confirm that the victim is an 18-year-old from the Rifle Range area.
Police say that following a post-mortem examination, the case has been classified as murder, and investigations are being carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department in Lautoka.
They add that the accused has now been formally charged with one count of murder following consultation with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Police add that the charges follow new forensic evidence obtained during the investigation.
