A 21-year-old man of Tailevu charged with allegedly raping his 9-year-old cousin has been denied bail by High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo.
He is charged with two counts of rape.
The alleged incident took place on August 3rd this year in a village in Tailevu.
Defence lawyer, Talei Kean had applied for bail saying her client will reside in Nausori and the alleged confession by the accused was fabricated by Police.
Justice Temo refused to release the man on bail and has adjourned the case to the 2nd of February next year.
