Australia-based 21-year-old midfielder Solayman Mohammed has signed with Bula FC, strengthening the squad ahead of the new season.

Speaking after completing his move, Solayman acknowledged the challenges and opportunities that come with playing in Fiji, noting that while the climate is demanding, the standards and professionalism at Bula FC have impressed him.

He says he feels blessed and very happy, and gives all thanks to the Almighty God for the opportunity.

Solayman says he chose this path because he wants to represent his family’s roots here in Fiji and give back.

He also paid tribute to his family for their support throughout his journey.

Solayman began his football journey at just five years of age with a local club, before entering the National Premier Leagues (NPL) system at eight, joining New South Wales club Mounties Wanderers.

He progressed through the ranks there and remained with the club up to Under-18 level.

He later moved to Bonnyrigg White Eagles, a semi-professional soccer club based in Bonnyrigg, Sydney,
where he advanced from the U18 side into the first-grade squad, before most recently turning out for St Marys Eaglevale.

His experience also includes competing in the Pacific Cup with the AUFFI All Stars, where he faced teams from Fiji, as well as representing Nadi FC in domestic competitions on several occasions.

Bula FC has welcomed Solayman to the Warriors family and expressed confidence that the young midfielder will make a strong impact during the upcoming season.

The club will take on Vanuatu United FC in the OFC Pro League’s opening match on 17 January at 2pm at Eden Park in Auckland.
