A 21-year-old Labasa man is in custody and has been charged by the Fiji Police M-PAiSA Task Force Team for dishonestly obtaining cash via the mobile money transfer service.

It is alleged that on the 20th of October, 2023, the man, who is from Lajonia, Labasa, dishonestly obtained money in relation to a Facebook advertisement selling an iPhone 6 for $300 on the Buy and Sell page.

Police say when the victim contacted him on the status of payment made, the man allegedly blocked all forms of communication.

He will be produced in the Labasa Magistrates Court tomorrow.
