2025 LANA results are out, shows rise in literacy

The 2025 Provisional Literacy and Numeracy Assessment results has been released today, which shows improved literacy rates for Year 5 and Year 7 students, with Year 5 rising from 90 percent to 95 percent and Year 7 from 93 percent to 95 percent.

The Ministry of Education says numeracy results were more mixed where Year 5 performance remained unchanged at 74 percent, while Year 7 recorded a slight decrease, falling from 83 percent to 81 percent.

They say that of the 18,397 registered Year 5 students, 17,940 took the Literacy test and 17,979 sat for Numeracy.

They add that of the 19,559 Year 7 students, 18,744 completed Literacy and 18,991 took Numeracy.

The Ministry hopes the early release of results will allow teachers to plan effective intervention programs during the holiday period.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro congratulated students for their hard work and thanked teachers, school leaders, parents, and guardians for their dedication throughout the academic year.

He says that while literacy performance is impressive, the Ministry will focus on addressing the dip in Year 7 numeracy to ensure all students meet essential competency levels.

Schools seeking clarification on their results or individual student reports may contact the Examinations and Assessment Office or their nearest District Education Office.

A 30-day provisional period is now open for schools to confirm registrations and resolve any discrepancies.

Provisional results and school-level reports are now available on the FEMIS portal, while parents can collect individual student reports directly from their child’s school.
