2 more fires recorded in the last 12 hours
Two more fires have been recorded within the last 12 hours in Suva and Lautoka.

The first incident was reported late last night at around 11:45pm at Union Plaza, Thomson Street where a café and restaurant was completely destroyed with its contents. 

Police say the National Fire Authority and crime officers went to the scene however the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.

In the second incident early this morning, a 62-year-old self employed man of Vaivai, Lautoka lost his five bedroom house in a fire.

The incident happened at around 1:30am. 

The owner of the house is currently out of the country and the house was occupied by five adults and four children. 

Meanwhile, investigations continue to ascertain the cause of fire at the CDP Courier Services building at Walu Bay early yesterday.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirms that three people are believed to have been at the scene.

Naisoro said two people have been questioned and released while one remains in custody.

CDP Courier Services Managing Director Sashi Singh said at this stage they are not able to determine the cost of damage and the entire building has been burnt. 

Singh said the workers have not been affected as everyone resumed work yesterday however they are operating at a nearby premises.
