Two men are currently in Police custody for their alleged involvement in the drug case where two Police officers were earlier charged.

The two men were arrested last night as investigation into the case continues.

The two police officers who were arrested on Friday in Suva for allegedly being in unlawful possession of illicit drugs have been charged and will be appearing in the Suva Magistrates Court today.

Police say the liquid chemical seized has tested positive for methamphetamine.

They say charges against the two have been sanctioned by the Office of the Director Public Prosecutions.

The 43-year-old and the 31-year-old police officers have been jointly charged with two counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs under the Illicit Drugs Control Act.

The 31-year-old also faces additional charges of unlawful importation of illicit drugs under the Illicit Drugs Control Act and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Both accused persons will be appearing in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
