$191,000 vans purchased by Mataqali Matalevu to drive economic growth

Today marks an unforgettable day for the Mataqali Matalevu in Vunitogoloa Village, Ra, as they have purchased two vans from Asco Motors as part of their plan to generate income for the betterment of future generations.

Turaga ni Mataqali, Eremasi Ralulu says last month, they received $740,000 as lease money and prior to receiving the funds, they had already planned to purchase vans as a source of income.

The total cost of the two vans are $191,000.

Ralulu says landowners should avoid misusing their funds and instead focus on investing in businesses that can generate sustainable income.

The 69-year-old urged landowners to invest wisely and make effective use of lease money to ensure long-term benefits.

Minister for Lands Filimoni Vosarogo acknowledged the Mataqali Matalevu for their wise decision to purchase the vans and start their business.

Vosarogo also encouraged other landowning units to avoid misuse of funds and not simply wait for the next lease payment in six months.
