$187 million used by the Govt since 2012 to connect Fijians to electricity - Sayed-Khaiyum

The Fijian Government has used $187 million since 2012 to connect ordinary Fijians to electricity.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while commissioning the EFL power supply for Nubu, Lagalaga and Kurukuru in Vanua Levu last night.

He says connecting to electricity has been a major part of the objective of the Bainimarama led government.

Sayed-Khaiyum says connecting people to electricity also empowers them so they can increase productivity and children will have a better future.

The government used more than $4 million to connect Nubu, Lagalaga and Kurukuru to the electricity grid.
