1,837 people are currently in 66 evacuation centres around the country

1,837 people are currently staying in 66 evacuation centres around the country.

The National Disaster Management Office says the Western Division has 16evacuation centres and is accommodating 386 evacuees, the Central Division has 21 evacuation centres and is accommodating 384 evacuees, the Eastern Division has 29 evacuation centres and is accommodating 1067 evacuees.

NDMO has also confirmed that the distribution of food rations for families in evacuation centres have started today.

They say this is for those who have been in the evacuation centres in the last 48 hours.
