A 17-year old boy will appear in court tomorrow charged with his alleged involvement in a sacrilege case in Waituri in Nausori on Friday.

Police say a team was tasked to investigate the alleged sacrilege cases after it was reported on Friday morning at the Nausori Police Station.

The boy allegedly broke into a family temple and tried to set fire to the religious books and idols inside the temple.

Police say the owner of the property managed to put out the fire.

The 17-year old has been charged with two counts of sacrilege and will appear in the Nausori Magistrates Court tomorrow.
