17 people including three chiefs have been charged for sedition and inciting communal antagonism by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde says the decision to charge follows an investigation by Police into certain activities by a group of individuals in the Ra district last year.
Pryde says that in addition to charges being brought against these 17 people further charges may be brought against other people who allegedly masterminded this operation including people that may have left the country.
