17 Hours On, No End In Sight
It is now 17 hours since the flooding began in Nadi, Ba and Lautoka and there is no end in sight at this stage with high tide coming in and rain continuing in these areas.

The Nadi River burst its banks this morning and many areas in Nadi Town including all roads leading to Nadi town remain flooded.

Nadi and Ba towns are closed as all roads into the two towns are under flood waters. The flood waters have also entered the main areas of the two western towns.

Nadi Weather Office Director, Rajendra Prasad said people should take precautions as heavy rain will continue this afternoon.

He said the situation will remain going into the weekend.

Prasad said people should be aware that the flash flood warning is in place for the whole of the Fiji group and people should take heed of the warnings.
