162,299 applications have been received for the Government's $200 Back to School Support initiative.
Permanent Secretary for Finance, Shiri Gounder says these applications are now being assessed and payment will start from Wednesday 25th January.
Gounder says as announced earlier, applications for guardians will now open from Monday 23rd January and close at 5pm on Thursday 26th January.
He says they are also extending the application due date for parents to next Thursday to give them more time to submit their applications.
The payment for this group of applications will start from 1st February.
