In a groundbreaking display of strength and skill, 16-year-old Zion Tokona left an indelible mark after securing a gold medal in the youth category and also setting a new Oceania Youth record while competing in the 96kg men's youth category at the Oceania Weightlifting Championships in Auckland, New Zealand.

Tokona has only been weightlifting for a year and 8 months.

He exceeded all expectations by lifting a snatch of 130kg and a clean and jerk of 148kg, amassing an impressive total of 278kg.

This was a repeat performance that Tokona showcased in Samoa during the Youth, Junior, and Under 23 Weightlifting Championships.

His snatch of 130kg, clean and jerk of 148kg, and total of 278kg establish him as the new record holder in the Oceania Youth snatch, clean and jerk, and total categories, respectively.

Zion Tokona's rapid ascent in the world of weightlifting is a testament to his dedication and natural talent.
