15 police officers commended after returning from UN peacekeeping missions

15 police officers who have just returned from tour of duty to three United Nations Peacekeeping Missionsv have been commended for their dedication and professionalism.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga conveyed his appreciation to the officers
as their Post Deployment Reintegration Program concluded on Thursday.

Thirteen officers had returned from serving in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan , one from the Multinational Force and Observers and an officer to the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei.

Lutunauga says he is glad they have returned safely and has also acknowledged the families who had to play a dual role during the officer's tour of duty.

He also complimented the fathers and mothers for their sacrifice during their partner's absence.

The Acting Deputy Commissioner also awarded the officers with Overseas and Long Service Medals.
