14-year-old Gospel High student Turaganivalu wins bronze in Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships

Team Fiji’s youngest lifter at the 2024 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships, 14-year-old Mereia Turaganivalu has won a bronze medal in the Women’s 59kg Youth category.

The Gospel High School student had a lift of 53kg in the snatch and 70kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 123kg.

There are 24 athletes representing Fiji in the 2024 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in the Senior, Junior and Youth divisions which is currently underway at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
