14-year-old Nehemiah Elder has claimed a gold medal in the Youth snatch category, setting a new Oceania Youth Snatch record at 125kg and has also leveled the Oceania Youth clean and jerk record with a lift of 137kg at the Oceania Weightlifting Championships held in Auckland, New Zealand.

Weightlifting Fiji says the cumulative effect of his exceptional lifts has resulted in Elder establishing a new Oceania Youth total record of an impressive 262kg.

In addition to his Youth victories, Elder showcased his prowess in the Oceania Junior category, earning another gold medal for his remarkable achievements.

Weightlifting Fiji says that at just 14-years-old, he displayed incredible composure and skill, securing an impressive 4th place and narrowly missing out on a bronze medal in the senior category.

They says this achievement underscores his potential and positions him as a rising star in the world of weightlifting.
