The Hurricanes have claimed their first win in Super Rugby Aotearoa after defeating the Chiefs 25-18 this afternoon.

Hurricanes flyer Kobus Van Wyk scored two tries, Du’Plessis Kirifi scored one try while the other points came from Jordie Barrett's boot.

Damien McKenzie and Lachlan Boshier scored for the Chiefs but it was not enough to give them the win.

The Hurricanes led the Chiefs 20-3 at the break.

Hurricanes lock Scott Scrafton received a red card for a high tackle on McKenzie.

Last night, the Crusaders beat the Highlanders 40-20.

In Round 5 of Super Rugby Aotearoa, the Crusaders will take on the Blues at 7.05pm Saturday while the Hurricanes will face the Highlanders at 3.35pm Sunday.
