13 people arrested for playing touch rugby in Nadi which is a breach of health restrictions

13 people have been arrested as they breached health restrictions to play touch rugby in Navoci Nadi yesterday while 7 people were found to have gathered in a church in Navua.

50 cases were recorded over the last 24 hours for breaching curfew orders and the health restrictions.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says the Southern Division recorded 33 cases whereby 14 were arrested at the Nabua Hall for kava consumption.

He says 5 were found loitering along Nadawa and Nadera while two cases related to alcohol were also reported during curfew hours in the area.

4 others were arrested for loitering during curfew hours in Valelevu while a 38-year-old man was arrested at Howell Road for alcohol consumption.

3 cases of loitering were recorded in Sigatoka and Lautoka.

A lone case recorded in the Eastern Division involved a 53-year-old farmer who was found drunk and loitering along Bau Road.

The Central and the Northern Division recorded nil cases.
