11 women’s organisations and women support groups have become new recipients of grants from the Fiji Women’s Fund.

This was announced by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa while launching the Fiji Women’s Fund’s 2018 Annual Progress Report.

The grants will assist in areas of dairy farming, empowerment of women that live with disabilities and also the empowerment women in sports and business.

Vuniwaqa says that since the Fiji Women’s Fund’s inception in 2017 it has provided funding to 18 groups who implemented activities in each of the four divisions in the country.

She Fiji Women’s Fund is extremely important, especially given the commitment of AU$10.5 million from 2017-2022 for funding and capacity development support to women’s groups, networks and organisations in Fiji to expand and enhance their works on women’s empowerment and gender equality.
