11 dead after man drives car into crowd in Vancouver

About 11 people have been killed after a car drove into a crowd at a Filipino festival in Vancouver.

Acting Vancouver Police Chief Steve Rai, says the victims are aged between five and 65 years old.

Vancouver Mayor Kenneth Sim says a full review has been opened into the event's safety.

Organisers of the festival say they are heartbroken, adding that they are collectively shattered but are coming together as a community.

Yoseb Vardeh, who was at the scene, tells the BBC the car drove "right through the crowd" as people were "crying out" for their loved ones.
