11 Men still in police custody for alleged criminal trespass

11 men of Colo-i-Suva Village are still being questioned by police in relation to their alleged criminal trespass yesterday.

This comes after the men from mataqali Valebure were allegedly seen live on Facebook in Colo-I-Suva threatening to cut off the water supply to the residents of Suva.

Police Chief Operations ACP Maretino Qiolevu had earlier highlighted that considering the situation where they had allegedly threatened to cut off the supply of water which is a basic necessity to hundreds and thousands of people, the group have been taken in for questioning.

Qiolevu says members of the public must follow and exhaust the legal channels and processes of addressing their grievances.

He says any attempts or actions deemed to be against the law will be dealt with accordingly.

In the video, the men claimed that they were not receiving the lease money for the dam in Savura, Colo-i-Suva.
