Ba Council of Social Services member Tevita Evo says about 14 evacuation centres are open in Ba where more than 100 people are taking shelter.

Evo says one evacuation centre is sheltering about 5 families, while another centre has around 30 people.

He adds at the moment, they are still experiencing strong winds.

Evo says strong winds and flooding has badly affected most of the farms in Ba.

He says the movement of people is currently restricted in Ba.

Meanwhile, Pranil Sharma of Moto Settlement says he is grateful that the cyclone did not make landfall as there was no major damage apart from fallen trees and branches in his area.

Sharma says they are fortunate that the cyclone did not hit the western division.
