10 contestants finalised for Hibiscus Festival as two spots remain

Great news for Suva as 10 contestants have been finalised for this year’s Hibiscus Festival, with only two more spots left to fill.

Organisers say they have received an excellent response and have described the calibre of this year’s contestants as “out of this world”.

They say all 12 contestants are expected to be finalised today.

Meanwhile, 2025 Miss Hibiscus Rhyelle Aisea says the platform provides many opportunities.

The festival will feature a spectacular Float Parade showcasing creativity and community pride, the Miss Hibiscus Pageant, including the Miss Charity competition, and a Crowning Night Ball at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

It will also feature a vibrant entertainment hub with live performances, a marketplace with 180 stalls, including cultural food villages and artisan crafts, and sporting competitions such as table tennis, pickleball and volleyball.

Other activities include city-wide initiatives such as “Light Up the City” and Best Dressed Shopfronts, as well as exclusive experiences such as the Hibiscus VIP Lounge.

Festival Director Ellen Whippy-Knight earlier said the intention is to bring back the glamour and excitement the festival has always been known for, while creating an event every Fijian can be proud of.

The 70th Hibiscus Festival will be held from August 29th to September 5th at Albert Park.
