1 man charged while another man arrested for their involvement in Shalimar Street robbery

Raiwaqa Police have charged one of the men involved in the early morning robbery in Shalimar Street earlier this month while another man was arrested last night.

Police say 20-year-old Nemani Naqicanivalu who resides at Jittu Estate and is unemployed was charged with five counts of aggravated robbery and was produced in court yesterday.

He has been remanded and will produced in the Suva High Court on 7th June.

Another suspect, a 22-year-old man was arrested last night in Samabula and is being questioned.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu says efforts continue with the arrest of the other three suspects.

He says with another long weekend approaching, property owners are being advised to secure their homes and properties well.

Police are also requesting members of the public to report any suspicious movement of people in their area as they could be linked to possible robbery and burglary attempts.
