Two other FICAC witnesses told the court in former Transport Ministry Spokesperson, Sainiana Radrodro’s trial that Radrodro did not issue any receipts to them after asking for money on behalf of the Minister for Works, Timoci Natuva from 2010 to 2011.
Radrodro is charged with 11 counts of obtaining a financial advantage by deception.
Classic Buses Limited Director Operations, Adnan Mohammed told the court that Sainiana Radrodro made a request through a phone call for a donation of $1,000 for the then upcoming Ministry Sports Day in 2011.
Mohammed says that he wrote a cash cheque which was received by Saniana Radrodro and upon receiving the cheque no official receipt was issued.
He confirms that he did not ask for the receipt.
Mohammed says that he trusted Sainiana Radrodro as the money was asked on behalf of the Minister.
Director for Nand’s Civil Construction Limited of Nadi, Rajeshwar Nand also told the court that in 2010, Sainiana Radrodro called him and asked him for a donation of $1,500 for the Minister’s Netball Jerseys.
Nand says that he asked Radrodro to provide him an official request letter.
The court heard that Radrodro then e-mailed Nand with an attached official request letter for the donation.
Nand told the court that he did not have the copy of the e-mail request letter.
Nand did not ask for any acknowledgment from Radrodro as he believed that the money was requested by the Minister.
