Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Gareth Baber.

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Coach Gareth Baber says he would only take the opportunity to continue coaching the 7s team if he would be committed to taking the team to the next Olympics.

While speaking on fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan, Baber says he feels that any coach that takes on that now, needs that space and time to go through the processes.

Baber says the Drua team is coming up and a number of the 7s players will be in the Drua and it is going to be a brand new transition for the next group of players.

He says what you do not need is two or three coaches in that space.

Baber also says he is also trying to understand what the next three years would be like and it is a big decision to make.

He further says it is also about giving respect to the position of head coach and if he is doing it, he is doing it 100 percent.

Baber’s contract is set to expire in December and he is yet to decide whether he will continue as the coach or not.
