A remandee who escaped from a police vehicle while it was on its way to court near the Suva Bus Stand this morning, was caught by a member of the public.
The remandee was chased by five police officers in the middle of the road before being apprehended by a man on his way to the bus stand.
Police say the remandee jumped out of the police truck when it was stuck in traffic near the Flea Market and was caught shortly after.
They say the truck was on its way to the courthouse. Police confirm an investigation will be carried out to ascertain how the remandee managed to escape in the first place.
