The lockdown in Qauia Settlement in Lami has been extended until further notice.

This has been confirmed by the Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong who says they need more evidence of COVID safe behaviour from residents.

We have received a number of calls from people living in Qauia Settlement who were not certain whether the lockdown has been removed or extended.

The settlement has been under a lockdown since last Tuesday after a rapid rise in COVID-19 cases in the area.
