Puamau Sowane has been appointed as the new National Fire Authority Chief Executive Officer.

Sowane will serve for a term of three years which comes into effect from the 18th of this month.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Sowane has previously served as the Deputy Secretary in both the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations.

NFA Board Chairman John O’Connor says Sowane’s appointment will be a step towards realising their commitment to maintain good governance, discipline and professionalism.

O’Connor says Acting CEO Mileta Seniroqa will revert to her position as Manager Human Resources & Corporate Affairs and support the CEO in moving NFA forward
