The Provincial Administrator Nadroga/Navosa Vatia Vasuca says there are more than 300 people in 10 active evacuation centres in Sigatoka.

He says there have been no major damages in Sigatoka and the evacuees came to the centres as they felt they were not safe to face a cyclone at their homes.

Vasoca says the evacuees had to arrange their own food items at the centre, while they will be assessing damages and also provide food rations.

Umendra Singh who is a resident of Kavanagasau Road says the weather in his area seems a bit cloudy and windy and there has been no rainfall since this morning.
