Let your children pursue a career they are comfortable with because they will give their best - AG

The Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum urges parents to let their children pursue a career they are comfortable with because they will give their best in anything they are comfortable doing.

While officiating at the Queen Victoria School Prize Giving Ceremony, Sayed-Khaiyum says this is a competitive world and parents should encourage their children to follow a career they love pursuing.

The Attorney General says students need to be equipped with good information, the right knowledge and the right mentality of professionalism because they are the future leaders of this nation.

He says having the right professional attitude will enable a student to tackle hard situations in a professional way and if this is not handled professionally then they are the same as the person stirring up trouble.

Sayed-Khaiyum says today people from overseas are being employed in the country due to less skilled professionals and he is urging students to pursue a career that they love doing and not what is expected of them from their teachers, parents or elders.

The Minister also congratulated all the students that were awarded prizes and told them that this is the fruit of their hard work.

Year 13 student, Lorima Magitiravula received the 2019 School Dux Award.
