The International Women’s Association (Fiji) delivered 10 cartons of saline solution to the CWM Hospital Children’s Ward yesterday afternoon, on top of the ones they delivered on Tuesday and questions are being asked on where are the 3,000 units plus the 4,200 units yet to be cleared by the Fiji Procurement Office (FPO) that the Health Ministry had announced on Monday.

IWA (Fiji) President Judy Compain is asking the Government and Professor Prasad for answers.

Compain says the Paediatric Doctor’s Emergency Fund was able to purchase another 2 cartons.

She says the saline solution was not hard to get.

The IWA (Fiji) President is asking what if your loved ones needed some and there was none?

The Health Ministry earlier this week has confirmed that the Ministry, through the Fiji Pharmaceutical & Biomedical Services (FPBS), had received 3,000 units of IV fluids last week, and another 4,200 units are yet to be cleared by the Fiji Procurement Office (FPO).

They added that FPBS have also placed continuous orders for IV fluids in the next few days.

We have sent questions to the the Health Minister Dr Atonio Lalabalavu and Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad. They are yet to respond.
