 Heavy rain warning remains for most parts of Fiji

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Viti Levu, the eastern half of Vanua Levu which includes areas from Labasa, Savusavu, Seaqaqa, Taveuni, Kadavu, Yasawa, Mamanuca, Lau and the Lomaiviti Group.

A trough of low pressure with cloud and rain is approaching Fiji from the west and it is expected to affect the country from tonight.

A flash flood alert is now in force for low lying areas and small streams of the eastern half of Vanua Levu, Taveuni and low lying areas along Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Navua to Nabukevesi and for the low lying areas in the upper Rewa Catchment.

The National Disaster Management Office is advising people living in low lying areas to take necessary precautions now.
